Aqsa Altaf and John X. Carey are a directing team based in Los Angeles who love making cinematic, human spirit films.

Aqsa was raised in Kuwait by Muslim, South Asian parents while John grew up the son of writers in a small town in the US. Aqsa and John have directed commercials for clients like Apple, Google, Disney, and Amazon. Lately they’ve been creating narrative projects that are a marriage of human interest topics and genre. They love telling visual stories that matter but are also universally accessible. 

Their latest short film, AWAYY, premiered at SXSW. Currently, they are developing their first feature film.
